In just a few weeks, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/06\/12\/opinions\/great-awakening-empathy-solidarity-george-floyd-jones\/index.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a string of hopeful developments<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signaling real change has offered up some hope that there may be momentum. But the fight is by no means over, and global protests show no signs of slowing down. Thank you, WESTAF leaders on the board and staff, who brought our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westaf.org\/westaf-statement-on-the-murder-of-george-floyd\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Statement on the Murder of George Floyd and our Commitment to Racial Justice<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> into existence. Of note \u2014 this was the first time that WESTAF has ever released a public statement about a world event. It also reflects WESTAF\u2019s commitment to being a more equitable and inclusive organization. The work of our SRI team, our strategic planning equity cohort, our trustee leadership and our equity and inclusion committee will be paramount in leading the whole organization on this journey. You\u2019ll be hearing more about those efforts in the months ahead and in the lead up to our trustee meeting in October. Let\u2019s get underway and check in on the last two weeks:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>LE FONDS DE R\u00c9SILIENCE DES ARTS R\u00c9GIONAUX DES \u00c9TATS-UNIS EST EN COURS DE COURS (CG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WESTAF has formally kicked off the implementation of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1lt1Rilj2UeZRvOnKtlQHcncxbkQT6D7W8_qmaIf6CiA\/edit?usp=sharing\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, working with its five sister RAOs and the Mellon Foundation on an announcement press release, which should go out this week. WESTAF will administer the re-granting of over $1.7 million through summer of 2020, with awards ranging from $30,000 to $75,000, with a few exceptional $100,000 grants. The $10 million Regional Arts Resilience Fund is a first-of-its-kind emergency grant to each of the six US Regional Arts Organizations and is designed to help mitigate the financial threat to the sector by supporting small- and mid-sized arts organizations of all artistic disciplines in rural and urban areas that are regarded by their peers as having statewide, regional, or national impact. The fund will also prioritize those organizations that are most at risk during this crisis, including historically under-resourced organizations, as well as those who serve under-resourced populations, communities, and\/or art forms.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF CARES ET LES PANELS TOURWEST EN COURS DU 15 AU 18 JUIN (CD)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chrissy, Madalena et Lani animeront cinq r\u00e9unions de panel \u00e0 partir du 15 juin et jusqu&#039;au 18 juin pour le Fonds de secours WESTAF CARES pour les organisations et TourWest. En r\u00e9ponse aux protestations et manifestations en cours en faveur des vies noires \u00e0 travers le pays, nous avons apport\u00e9 quelques ajustements au programme et prolong\u00e9 les d\u00e9lais de notation pour tous les membres du panel, dont beaucoup s&#039;organisaient activement pour la justice et\/ou \u00e9taient attentifs \u00e0 prendre soin d&#039;eux-m\u00eames et de leurs proches. Attendez-vous \u00e0 une annonce officielle peu de temps apr\u00e8s.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>ENQU\u00caTE SUR L&#039;IMPACT DES ARTS SUR LA COVID-19 (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Results of the COVID-19 Arts Impact Survey have been announced via email, social media, and on the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westaf.org\/westaf-covid-19-arts-impact-survey-results\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> WESTAF website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Since then, WESTAF has been responding to inquiries from across the region to share, present, and discuss findings. On June 10, David delivered a presentation of the survey findings and other WESTAF COVID-related research as part of the Wyoming Arts Alliance\u2019s first statewide network video conference on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/15BlowhH8WAD0Q8aPgp880sYH3G9HVuU5\/view\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHow the Arts Will Survive and Thrive<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which was attended by over 40 artists and other arts and cultural leaders across the state. WESTAF Treasurer Mike Lange was also on the video conference in his role as executive director of the Wyoming Arts Council. This is the first of a series of more than 10 weekly network calls that are being organized and led by WAAN member Bill Lindstrom and former WESTAF trustee Wendy Bredehoft. On June 11, David was interviewed by Wyoming Public Radio on the results of the survey and implications for the arts in Wyoming. Additional inquiries have been received from Montana and Nevada and we are considering a state-by-state analysis of the data.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>APER\u00c7U DU RAPPORT DE LA SESSION SUR LES ARTS DANS L&#039;OUEST RURAL (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WESTAF recently completed a session report of the Arts in the Rural West virtual workshop in early April that has been reviewed by participants. We are in the process of commissioning a designer to professionally prepare the session report for publication and wider distribution. We are sharing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1OpuqULhRmKwfwa8F_Yh_UDnkGMkjrkhS\/view\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a preview of the report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> before it goes to a designer to give you a fuller sense of the content of the session. We\u2019d like to thank WESTAF trustee Nikiko Masumoto again for being a critical partner in the planning and delivery of the virtual workshop and recognize WESTAF Chair Tamara Alvarado and trustees Brandy Reitter and Kelly Stowell for participating in the session as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>SERVICES DE R\u00c9PONSE RAPIDE AUX AGENCES ARTISTIQUES DE L&#039;\u00c9TAT ET AUX ORGANISATIONS DE D\u00c9FENSE DES ARTS (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Au cours des deux derni\u00e8res semaines, WESTAF a r\u00e9pondu \u00e0 une autre s\u00e9rie de demandes de recherche et d\u2019assistance technique \u00e0 r\u00e9ponse rapide \u00e9manant d\u2019agences artistiques d\u2019\u00c9tat et d\u2019organisations de d\u00e9fense des arts d\u2019\u00c9tat. Nous avons \u00e9galement recherch\u00e9 des conseils sur l\u2019utilisation des fonds li\u00e9s au CARES par les gouvernements locaux et \u00e9tatiques aupr\u00e8s de diverses agences f\u00e9d\u00e9rales, notamment le Tr\u00e9sor et le HUD, ainsi que des associations gouvernementales comme la Government Finance Officers Association.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>DEUXI\u00c8ME R\u00c9UNION DU R\u00c9SEAU DE D\u00c9FENSE DES ARTS DES \u00c9TATS DE L&#039;OUEST (WAAN) (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1MptoYeFGOwLW3UWSzvXEsXXvRhtXNiwh7HJQVmoDLOw\/edit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Western Arts Advocacy Network<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> met for the second time on June 5, 2020 hosted by WESTAF via Zoom. Representatives of Alaska State Council on the Arts, Arizona Citizens for the Arts, Arts for Colorado, Californians for the Arts, Cultural Advocacy (Montana), Idaho Commission on the Arts, Nevada Arts Council, Utah Cultural Alliance, and Wyoming Arts Alliance participated on the call. The group discussed national protests, circumstances within states, and calls for the arts and culture sector to better address systemic racism and inequity in our work. The group also discussed recent Paycheck Protection Program legislation, updates on state budgets and potential cuts to state arts agencies, state and federal advocacy activities, and the possible election of a chair (or co-chairs) for the network. The group is quickly mobilizing, sharing information, and interested in working closely with WESTAF on developing advocacy strategies in the West.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>COALITION POUR LE TRAVAIL DES TRAVAILLEURS CR\u00c9ATIFS (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christian et David font d\u00e9sormais partie de la Getting Creative Workers Working Coalition, un r\u00e9seau national issu de nombreuses propositions et appels \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un programme artistique WPA moderne, organis\u00e9 par Americans for the Arts. Christian fera partie du groupe de travail sur les communications nouvellement form\u00e9 et David du groupe de travail sur les politiques de cette coalition en pleine expansion. Ce r\u00e9seau, qui comprend actuellement plus de 50 personnes repr\u00e9sentant des agences artistiques locales et nationales, des fondations, des organisations de services artistiques et d\u2019autres, travaille rapidement pour passer de la discussion \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration de propositions concr\u00e8tes et de plans d\u2019action pour soutenir les travailleurs cr\u00e9atifs dans le contexte des secours, de la reprise et de la r\u00e9invention, tout en \u00e9tant conscient du contexte des crises actuelles.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>COHORTE POLITIQUE (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La cohorte politique du plan strat\u00e9gique s&#039;est r\u00e9cemment r\u00e9unie pour la troisi\u00e8me fois et le groupe a \u00e9lu Justine Chapel et Janae De La Virgen comme co-dirigeantes. La cohorte comprend \u00e9galement Rebecca Brown, Ken Cho, Brandon Jay, Natalie Scherlong, Laurel Sherman et Lauren Wilson. La cohorte a form\u00e9 trois groupes de travail qui \u00e9valueront le travail de la cohorte dans les trois domaines du plan strat\u00e9gique : les services d&#039;\u00c9tat et le plaidoyer, les services nationaux et le plaidoyer, et le leadership \u00e9clair\u00e9 et la port\u00e9e. Le groupe a \u00e9galement commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler sur un projet qui identifiera des \u00ab histoires de r\u00e9silience \u00bb mettant en lumi\u00e8re des artistes, des militants, des organisations artistiques, des \u00e9lus et d&#039;autres personnes actives dans le plaidoyer, le b\u00e9n\u00e9volat et le leadership communautaire dans toute la r\u00e9gion. Ces histoires seront affin\u00e9es et partag\u00e9es avec l&#039;\u00e9quipe de marketing et de communication en tant que concepts pour une campagne potentielle.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>PLAN STRAT\u00c9GIQUE (NS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Natalie a envoy\u00e9 des communications \u00e0 chacun des responsables de cohorte pour confirmer les noms des conseillers fiduciaires qui leur ont \u00e9t\u00e9 assign\u00e9s, ainsi que les biographies de chaque conseiller. Les cohortes r\u00e9digeront leurs propres courriels de pr\u00e9sentation au cours de la semaine \u00e0 venir, qui seront ensuite envoy\u00e9s \u00e0 leurs conseillers. Cela donnera aux conseillers un aper\u00e7u des membres de chaque cohorte et de l&#039;objectif de leur travail. Ces pr\u00e9sentations constitueront la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape du d\u00e9veloppement d&#039;un engagement coh\u00e9rent et authentique entre les administrateurs et le personnel \u00e0 l&#039;approche de la r\u00e9union du conseil d&#039;administration d&#039;octobre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>FINANCES ET ADMINISTRATION (AH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&#039;\u00e9quipe des finances continue de travailler en \u00e9troite collaboration avec l&#039;\u00e9quipe ZAPP sur la gestion des remboursements des spectacles : nous envisageons des moyens de rendre la charge de travail plus durable en recherchant des outils technologiques pour automatiser les comptes cr\u00e9diteurs et int\u00e9grer automatiquement les donn\u00e9es dans notre syst\u00e8me financier. Nous sommes heureux de voir que le programme de protection des ch\u00e8ques de paie a prolong\u00e9 les semaines autoris\u00e9es pour la remise de salaire, de sorte que WESTAF pourra obtenir la remise compl\u00e8te de $377 550 \u00e0 la fin de l&#039;\u00e9t\u00e9. Pour soutenir le budget de la paie et des avantages sociaux du personnel, Amy et Christian ont r\u00e9dig\u00e9 une politique de r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration qui sera examin\u00e9e par nos experts juridiques en RH, la cohorte d&#039;\u00e9quit\u00e9, l&#039;\u00e9quipe de direction et le comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif avant sa mise en \u0153uvre.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>CAF\u00c9 (RV)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CaFE reached 1,000 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/callforentry\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> followers due to Justine&#8217;s daily pick of art by artists in the West! New leads are starting to pick up with at least three new leads per day. CaFE has signed three new clients so far in June. The majority of new clients are galleries and independent art spaces. The spring CaFE marketing campaigns didn&#8217;t perform too well because of unforeseen timing; however, analysis shows that our &#8220;Trusted for 15 Years&#8221; message resonated well with the most audiences, and we&#8217;ll be pursuing this in future campaigns. The team is continuing to refine the licensing and onboarding process with great ideas by Eliza, paired with Natalie V.\u2019&#8217;s knowledge of Zapier and other software integrations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>CVSUITE (KE)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CVSuite effectuera une mise \u00e0 jour des donn\u00e9es pour les synchroniser avec les donn\u00e9es 2020.1 du fournisseur de donn\u00e9es Emsi le 15 juin. Nous avons propos\u00e9 une d\u00e9monstration \u00e0 la Pendleton Foundation, une petite fondation communautaire de l&#039;est de l&#039;Oregon qui g\u00e8re une demande de subvention et une bourse sur papier depuis plus de 70 ans et souhaite passer \u00e0 une plateforme en ligne. Les renouvellements continuent d&#039;arriver, mais plus que toute autre ann\u00e9e, les administrateurs de subventions demandent des conversations plus longues pour discuter de leurs plans de subvention, plut\u00f4t que de simplement renvoyer un renouvellement sign\u00e9 et de demander la facture. Il y aura probablement un \u00e9quilibre des revenus entre les clients qui doivent r\u00e9duire les services cette ann\u00e9e et ceux qui ajoutent des services, li\u00e9s au COVID ou non.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>ARCHIVES D&#039;ART PUBLIC (LG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PAA int\u00e8gre le nouveau client CMS et Showcase, Lancaster Public Art. Lori travaille directement avec l&#039;\u00e9quipe LPA pour cr\u00e9er une page de registre des artistes publics comme nouvelle opportunit\u00e9 de fournir un soutien aux artistes publics \u00e9mergents. Ce travail co\u00efncide avec certains projets d&#039;exposition virtuelle sp\u00e9ciaux en cours en partenariat avec Mural Arts Philadelphia. Un probl\u00e8me d\u00e9couvert avec les cartes sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 la collection est en cours de r\u00e9solution avant la r\u00e9union virtuelle de l&#039;AFTA, au cours de laquelle un certain nombre de supports marketing seront destin\u00e9s \u00e0 promouvoir PAA.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>ZAPP (CV)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nous avons tenu notre r\u00e9union annuelle des partenaires ZAPP le 8 juin, o\u00f9 nous avons discut\u00e9 de l&#039;impact de la COVID-19 sur l&#039;entreprise, ainsi que de son impact sur l&#039;industrie des foires et festivals d&#039;art dans son ensemble. Sur les huit partenaires ZAPP, quatre ont d\u00fb annuler leurs \u00e9v\u00e9nements, un a \u00e9t\u00e9 report\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#039;automne et les trois autres devraient avoir lieu comme pr\u00e9vu. Notre \u00e9quipe travaille \u00e9galement sur le budget ZAPP pour l&#039;exercice 21, avec une premi\u00e8re \u00e9bauche pr\u00e9vue \u00e0 la fin du mois, en plus de former notre nouveau coordinateur des ventes pour prendre en charge les efforts de vente entrants et sortants pour ZAPP et CaFE.
