\"\"S\u2019imposant comme un vecteur de soutien \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 dans le paysage en constante \u00e9volution de l\u2019Ouest, la Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), connue \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque sous le nom de branche Arts & Humanities de la Federation of Rocky Mountain States, est n\u00e9e d\u2019une vision collective et d\u2019un engagement ind\u00e9fectible en faveur d\u2019un acc\u00e8s \u00e9quitable aux arts pour tous. A Founding Member’s Impact<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"\"Membre fondatrice de la WESTAF, Louise Tester en a \u00e9t\u00e9 la vice-pr\u00e9sidente de 1973 \u00e0 1977. En tant que peintre expressionniste abstraite et artiste, elle a encourag\u00e9 sa communaut\u00e9 locale de Yuma, en Arizona, \u00e0 s'int\u00e9resser aux arts et \u00e0 l'impact que l'art peut avoir. Elle a travaill\u00e9 en \u00e9troite collaboration avec le Metropolitan Museum of Art pour l'organisation de l'exposition d'art pour enfants indiens Hopi, qui a ensuite fait le tour du pays.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ce train a voyag\u00e9 d'un endroit \u00e0 un autre avec autant d'\u0153uvres d'art qu'il pouvait en transporter, apportant ainsi l'art au plus grand nombre de communaut\u00e9s possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Artrain a rencontr\u00e9 un tel succ\u00e8s qu\u2019en avril 1973, le gouverneur de l\u2019Utah, Calvin Rampton, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 ce mois \u00ab Mois d\u2019Artrain \u00bb dans tout l\u2019\u00c9tat, et le maire de Brigham City, dans l\u2019Utah, a \u00e9galement d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la semaine d\u2019Artrain f\u00e9ri\u00e9e du 22 au 28 avril. At the grassroots level, WESTAF helped to catalyze programs that were rooted in community needs and aspirations. The goal was that these initiatives be as diverse as the communities they served, from funding local art projects to organizing cultural events that highlighted the region’s rich artistic offerings. An emphasis on community-driven programs highlighted the symbiotic relationship between art and society.

\nUne institution, Ballet West, est n\u00e9e d'une collaboration avec la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des \u00c9tats des Rocheuses. Successeur du Utah Civic Ballet, Ballet West a fait du ballet une forme d'art plus accessible et abordable dans la r\u00e9gion ouest gr\u00e2ce au soutien de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration pour faire du Utah Civic Ballet une compagnie de ballet professionnelle r\u00e9gionale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mais nous pouvons d\u00e9sormais servir davantage de personnes, renforcer notre stabilit\u00e9 et contribuer \u00e0 r\u00e9partir les co\u00fbts de fonctionnement sur une zone plus vaste et un public plus large. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Un voyage qui se d\u00e9roule encore<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

La WESTAF d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui continue de c\u00e9l\u00e9brer l\u2019imagination occidentale \u00e0 travers les arts, et nous sommes honor\u00e9s et reconnaissants de voir les organisations culturelles de notre r\u00e9gion cr\u00e9er des h\u00e9ritages et voir les communaut\u00e9s s\u2019unir sous l\u2019\u00e9gide des arts. Notre vision reste inchang\u00e9e et notre mission r\u00e9sonne toujours 50 ans plus tard en soutenant les organisations artistiques et les artistes dans leur qu\u00eate de servir des publics divers, d\u2019enrichir la vie des communaut\u00e9s locales et de donner acc\u00e8s aux arts \u00e0 tous.<\/span><\/p>\n
