They are Chief of Staff Ra Joy, White House Liaison and Senior Advisor to the Chief of Staff Jennifer (Jenn) Chang, Director of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Sonia Chala Tower, and Congressional Liaison Ben Kessler. The previous political appointees along with former chairman Mary Anne Carter left the Arts Endowment on January 20. Ann Eilers, Deputy Chairman for Management &amp; Budget, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.gov\/about\/news\/2021\/nea-acting-chairman-ann-eilers-statement-black-history-month\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">serves as Acting Chairman<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> until a new Chairman has been appointed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF GALVANISE L&#039;APPUI DES D\u00c9FENSEURS DES ARTS DE L&#039;OUEST AUX RECOMMANDATIONS DE POLITIQUE F\u00c9D\u00c9RALE DU CAG (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After several weeks of editing and best efforts to incorporate as much feedback as possible by the Cultural Advocacy Group (CAG), an updated version of The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1zaJ9aIw9G6AgqyduM1ivZYsvp_2-baxK\/view\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arts and Cultural Sector: Federal Policy Actions<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been finalized and is ready for endorsement. WESTAF recently circulated policy recommendations to members of the Western Arts Advocacy Network (WAAN) and other significant regional stakeholders. An initial version of this statement (featured in your Board Book) was shared, in response to a request, with members of the Biden-Harris transition team, and the new version expands to adopt further recommendations and reflect actions the new Administration has already begun to take. Session registration will open on the event site Aventri on 2\/10. Meetings with all four panels are being conducted on 2\/12 to review and refine <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/114sPSWGvHFI02N92xhbmlZGu0JsTAD7smwFItpzttYU\/edit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the agenda<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and give the panelists an opportunity to engage in advance of the session. Janae and Justine are working with the Policy Cohort to recruit members to join the ALAS sessions to lead questions and answers with participants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF CONTINUE DE TRAVAILLER POUR ALIGNER LES STRAT\u00c9GIES DE D\u00c9FENSE DES ARTS AU COLORADO (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WESTAF has continued to support a coalition of arts advocates in Colorado to define a new direction and an aligned vision for arts advocacy across the state. The Colorado Cultural Partners group conducted an Advocacy Alignment Survey across the state and was led in a planning session by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/talomapartners.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taloma Partners<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a women-owned business\/nonprofit consulting firm. WESTAF is working closely with Colorado Creative Industries; has developed a new relationship with Colorado Business Committee for the Arts through our advocacy funding program; and has taken on in-house management of the lobbyist contract in Colorado with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbmk.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brandeberry McKenna Public Affairs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (BBMK), a women-owned lobbying firm who has worked on behalf of the arts in the state for over a decade. The four areas of the developing legislative strategy are securing relief for the field, restoring Creative Districts funding through Colorado Creative Industries, and developing an equity-centered opportunity (potentially for artists). The core objective is protecting the funding for CCI and possibly bringing down additional relief dollars for the field. Legislative work will focus on Colorado Joint Budget Committee members and Colorado General Assembly leadership. The Skillshare is a recent development in our alumni engagement, built at the request of alumni who wanted to learn more from each other.\u00a0 This skillshare call is the next iteration of our formerly regular check in Zoom calls with alumni. Our first skillshare happened in October 2020, and was led by Ashanti McGee (NV\/14) about how to engage with our elected representatives. Victoria Paige Gonzalez (CO\/18), Marketing and Events Coordinator for Denver\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lcac-denver.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Latino Cultural Arts Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, hosted our recent call and shared her knowledge of social media strategy. We were also able to welcome our recent South Arts alumni into the call. Both calls were recorded, and we intend to edit and share these skillshares at a later date.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>SITE WEB DES ANCIENS DE LEADERS OF COLOR (LC) (MS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depuis plusieurs mois, l&#039;\u00e9quipe SRI travaille en \u00e9troite collaboration avec MarComm pour cr\u00e9er un site Internet pour les anciens \u00e9l\u00e8ves de Leaders of Color. WESTAF s&#039;est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 Western Arts Alliance (WAA) pour mettre en \u0153uvre ce programme au cours de ces ann\u00e9es. Le Fonds \u00e9tudie une initiative de pr\u00e9sentation virtuelle pour accro\u00eetre la visibilit\u00e9 des artistes am\u00e9ricains sur les march\u00e9s internationaux gr\u00e2ce au PAD. WAA, Arts Midwest et South Arts se r\u00e9unissent cette semaine pour explorer un \u00e9ventuel programme national coordonn\u00e9 qui pourrait devenir PAD 2.0.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>FINANCES ET ADMINISTRATION (AH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c0 notre grande surprise, WESTAF a re\u00e7u un deuxi\u00e8me pr\u00eat du programme de protection des salaires ! Le montant total s&#039;\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 1436 000 TP4T et financera les salaires et les avantages sociaux du personnel pendant deux mois et demi. Cela all\u00e8ge consid\u00e9rablement la crise de tr\u00e9sorerie de WESTAF et ZAPP ! L&#039;\u00e9quipe continue de faire avancer divers projets tels que la transition de groupes de clients ZAPP vers les paiements EFT, les progr\u00e8s sur les plans de travail distribu\u00e9s, Becky g\u00e9rant plus compl\u00e8tement le processus de cl\u00f4ture mensuelle et le soutien RH des transitions du personnel.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>COHORTES DE PLANIFICATION STRAT\u00c9GIQUE (NS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La cohorte des communications a rendu compte lors de la r\u00e9union de l&#039;ensemble de la WESTAF des progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s dans la planification des OKR. La cohorte des communications a r\u00e9cemment proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 un contr\u00f4le des progr\u00e8s des OKR pour \u00e9valuer les livrables et l&#039;avancement des t\u00e2ches et \u00e9tudie actuellement l&#039;application d&#039;une approche de r\u00e9flexion sur la conception aux livrables et \u00e0 la recherche, comme sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 par l&#039;un de nos conseillers fiduciaires.
