Pagbabadyet ng WESTAF<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Ang Leadership Resource Team (LRT) ay naging malalim sa mode ng pagbabadyet nitong mga nakaraang linggo. Dahil gumawa kami ng ilang pagbabago sa istruktura ng koponan at ang mga lugar ng responsibilidad ay lumilipat upang ipakita ang bagong istrukturang ito, mayroon ding ilang mga pagbabago sa proseso ng pagbabadyet, na pinagsusumikapan namin. Habang hinahamon kung minsan ang pagpapatupad, naniniwala kami na ang mga pagbabagong ito ay magpapahusay sa pagmamay-ari, transparency at pananagutan.<\/span><\/p>\n

State Arts Agency Performing Arts Directors (SAAPAD) Pro Dev \u2013 Hunyo 3-4<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Kasama sa pulong ng SAAPAD ang paglilibot at pag-uusap kasama ang pamunuan at kawani ng Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, isang organisasyong pinahahalagahan sa buong mundo na kumikilos nang lampas sa tradisyonal na modelo ng sining ng pagganap\u2014tahanan ng mga programa ng CRPD Ensemble, Academy, Theatre, at Education. Nalaman ng grupo ang tungkol sa kung paano pinapatakbo ng National Performance Network (NPN) ang equity sa pamamagitan ng kanilang mga artist at peer network, convening at conference. Ang programang ito ng propesyonal na pagpapaunlad ay patuloy na nagpapalakas ng mga koneksyon sa pagitan ng mga gumaganap na arts director at presenter consortia sa buong Kanluran. Naghahanap ang staff na bumuo sa modelo ng palitan ngayong taon sa pagitan ng mga dadalo at pagbisita sa site para sa 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sesyon ng SAA Professional Development \u2013 Hulyo 25-26, Denver<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Sa ngayon, mayroong 24 na kumpirmadong dadalo sa session ng SAA Professional Development na susuriin nang mas malalim: ang mga legal na implikasyon para sa mga nonprofit na tumatanggap ng suporta mula sa industriya ng cannabis; ang sining sa mga komunidad sa kanayunan; ang intersection ng sining, pulitika at pag-oorganisa ng komunidad at isang collaborative grant-making program na nagtataguyod ng gawaing cross-sector sa pamamagitan ng sining; mga talakayan sa roundtable na pinangungunahan ng mga kasamahan sa mga kaugnay na paksang kinilala ng pangkat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Noong 6\/10, nag-host sina Erin at Christian ng briefing call kasama ang mga SAA ED para bigyan sila ng maikling ulat sa huling pulong ng BOT. Salamat kay Karen (na nanguna sa huling pulong) sa pagbibigay ng ulat na ito. Iniulat ko rin ang katayuan ng paghahanap para sa isang bagong Direktor ng Pampublikong Patakaran (sa ibaba), at tinalakay namin ang tiyempo ng susunod na iminungkahing ED Forum.<\/span><\/p>\n

Direktor ng Public Policy Interviews Update<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Noong 6\/10 at 6\/11, nagsagawa kami ng paunang screen ng isang pool ng siyam na kandidato para sa posisyong ito. Ikinalulugod kong sabihin na may ilang malalakas at kwalipikadong kandidato para sa posisyon. Mula sa paunang pool na ito, pumili kami ng apat na kandidato at isang kahalili. Dalawa ang galing sa labas ng estado. Tatlo ang POC. Ang susunod na round ng mga personal na panayam ay nangyayari sa huling bahagi ng Hunyo.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mga Kilalang Pagpupulong\/Touch Base<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I had a lovely lunch meeting with Deborah Jordy<\/a><\/span>, Executive Director of the SCFD (Colorado\u2019s Scientific and Cultural Facilities District). Later in the week, we attended the opening of Colorado artist Clark Richert at MCA Denver. We\u2019ve resolved to figure out a way we can work more closely together. Deborah is also an AFTA board member. Had coffee with Lisa Gedgaudas and Matt Kowal of Create Denver\/Denver Arts and Venues<\/a><\/span>. They are doing some interesting work in performing arts emergency preparedness<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and music industry vitality in the city of Denver. I had a good meet \u2018n\u2019 greet telephone call with Leonardo Vasquez<\/span><\/a><\/span>, Executive Director of the National Consortium for Creative Placemaking (NCCP). In addition to their growing network of national convenings (including the upcoming CPL Summit\/Pacific taking place in Los Angeles this week, which I will be attending), they also have been busy building a curriculum and certification around creative placemaking. Given WESTAF\u2019s leadership around creative economy, there is potentially a partnership\/tie-in here. Last but not least, I finally met Tim Wilson, Executive Director of our \u201csister organization,\u201d the Western Arts Alliance <\/a><\/span>(WAA). We also had an informal meet \u2018n\u2019 greet call to get better acquainted. Tim also attended and reported out on their numerous touring and presenting activities at the SAAPAD meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anthony Radich Party<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Noong 6\/6, nag-host sina Anthony at Sonja ng isang magandang salu-salo para sa kasalukuyan at dating mga kawani at kaibigan ng WESTAF sa hardin ng kanilang magandang tahanan sa Denver noong isang napakarilag na hapon ng Huwebes. Ito ay masaya at nakakarelaks, at ito ay mahusay para sa akin nang personal na makilala ang ilang dating kawani ng WESTAF. Ang bawat tao'y tila nagkaroon ng isang mahusay na oras!<\/span><\/p>\n

As previously mentioned, I celebrated my dad\u2019s 90th this weekend in the Anderson Valley of Mendocino County, CA. Later this week, I head to Los Angeles for the CPL Summit\/Pacific<\/a>. <\/span>After that, I will be heading north, but first dropping in on trustee Nikiko Masumoto in Del Rey, CA (thanks, Nikiko), then on to San Andreas for a CAC meeting with Vice Chair Tamara Alvarado, then Sacramento for a day of meetings.<\/span><\/p>\n
