ALASKA<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

This situation continues to unfold in a frightful way. While there is still some hope pinned to the Capital Budget, there is not a lot of attendant optimism for a positive outcome. On Friday morning, WESTAF released an official statemen<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to all of social media channels and email lists to level-set its stance and commitment regarding the situation. During our State Arts Agency Professional Development Session in Denver last week, we hosted a moderated Q&A session with ASCA Chair Ben Brown and ASCA staffer Keren Lowell. While Keren and Ben touched on many aspects of this complex and dynamic situation, we also learned about the director of Alaska’s Office of Management and Budget, Donna Arduin<\/span><\/a><\/span>, who is developing a budget-slashing playbook for a variety of arts, culture, health and human services. If she appears in your state, please pay attention! This was a candid and highly informational breakdown of the anatomy of this situation for their SAA colleagues in the other twelve western states. We recorded this session and will be transcribing it for further use.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

HAWAI<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I spent a wonderful few days in Honolulu with WESTAF trustee Jonathan Johnson and his team, and gave a presentation to the SFCA board of commissioners. Other notable meetings included time spent with Georja Skinner, Director of the Creative Industries division of DBEDT, Hawaii\u2019s arts lobbyist Jon Okudura, FestPac<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Executive Director Vicky Holt Takamine, Film Office Director Donne Dawson, filmmaker Meleanna Myer and made visits to the Hawaii State Art Museum<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>y el Honolulu Museum of Art<\/span><\/a><\/span>. It felt good to be back in a place where I spent a really important part of my life.<\/span><\/p>\n

PLANIFICACI\u00d3N PRESUPUESTARIA<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de un gran trabajo por parte del equipo, ahora tenemos una versi\u00f3n 2 equilibrada de nuestro presupuesto para el a\u00f1o fiscal 2020 que est\u00e1 en muy buenas condiciones. COMUNICACIONES<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Leah ha estado trabajando en el Plan Maestro de Marketing y Comunicaciones para el a\u00f1o fiscal 2020 de WESTAF y se reunir\u00e1 con los equipos de productos durante las pr\u00f3ximas dos semanas para aclarar los objetivos comerciales y de ingresos para informar los respectivos objetivos y estrategias de marketing para cada producto. Tambi\u00e9n comparti\u00f3 recientemente con su futuro equipo sus descripciones de trabajo finalizadas, que entrar\u00e1n en vigencia el 1 de octubre. Actualmente, est\u00e1 elaborando un documento para los proyectos de comunicaci\u00f3n que el equipo priorizar\u00e1 en el primer trimestre. El equipo de MarComm comenzar\u00e1 a planificar las iniciativas de marketing para proyectos tecnol\u00f3gicos en agosto, despu\u00e9s de que los equipos hayan conocido el proceso OKR de Seyan a fines de julio. La edici\u00f3n de julio de las Notas de actualizaci\u00f3n se public\u00f3 la semana pasada y el viernes, WESTAF public\u00f3 ampliamente una respuesta oficial al veto de financiaci\u00f3n en Alaska. Sus documentos de marca se est\u00e1n compartiendo con el equipo de Estrategia comercial y MarComm para ayudar a informar la estrategia de ventas para cada producto y la estrategia de comunicaci\u00f3n para las nuevas verticales de WESTAF en BAR CAT. La campa\u00f1a CVSuite Top 20 est\u00e1 avanzando: todav\u00eda estamos creando los materiales digitales y hemos ajustado el cronograma para un lanzamiento a mediados de agosto. Kelly se ha hecho cargo del bolet\u00edn trimestral y el blog de CVSuite y envi\u00f3 ediciones de julio para ambos. Chrissy Deal put together <\/span>a a really powerful agenda<\/span><\/a> <\/span>and the overall feedback from the session was really positive and much needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

CUMBRE NACIONAL DE CREACI\u00d3N DE LUGARES CREATIVOS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I have been invited to serve on the Planning Committee of the next National Creative Placemaking Summit, scheduled in <\/span>Phoenix, AZ from November 14-16<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SESI\u00d3N DE DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL DE SAA<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

La semana pasada, m\u00e1s de veinte colegas de agencias estatales de arte de todo el oeste vinieron a Denver durante dos d\u00edas para participar en una sesi\u00f3n de desarrollo profesional y establecer contactos con sus pares en un ambiente informal. Adem\u00e1s de la actualizaci\u00f3n sobre Alaska (de la que se inform\u00f3 anteriormente), el grupo ten\u00eda una agenda repleta de acci\u00f3n y era la primera vez que asist\u00eda a esta reuni\u00f3n, que me result\u00f3 muy instructiva y \u00fatil (\u00a1y el grupo parec\u00eda bastante en\u00e9rgico y entusiasmado tambi\u00e9n!).<\/span><\/p>\n

PLANIFICACI\u00d3N DE LA PR\u00d3XIMA REUNI\u00d3N DE BOT DE OCTUBRE<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Trabajamos en la planificaci\u00f3n y la agenda de la pr\u00f3xima reuni\u00f3n de la Junta Directiva en Denver del 23 al 24 de octubre. La fecha de lanzamiento prevista para la parte de ZAPP para artistas con capacidad de respuesta m\u00f3vil se ha pospuesto unas semanas debido a demoras de nuestros desarrolladores.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cafeter\u00eda<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

CaFE tambi\u00e9n actualiz\u00f3 sus servidores para Amazon Aurora. En el \u00e1mbito de las ventas, le hemos comunicado oficialmente a la contratista de ventas de CaFE que no renovaremos su contrato que finaliza el 30 de septiembre. En su lugar, contrataremos a un miembro del personal a tiempo completo para coordinar las ventas de CaFE y ZAPP.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Eso pone una amplia presencia de organizaciones de servicios de artes en Yakima, todas al mismo tiempo y en un solo lugar. Las perspectivas a nivel estatal, regional y nacional se unir\u00e1n a la perspectiva local. Tambi\u00e9n se ha programado un taller de subvenciones de la NEA. La idea es reunir a las organizaciones art\u00edsticas y artistas de la zona para esta oportunidad; para permitir que las personas de la regi\u00f3n involucradas en las artes\/econom\u00eda creativa participen en una conversaci\u00f3n con los panelistas y formulen y obtengan respuestas a sus preguntas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Burning Man. Asistir\u00e9 a uno de los eventos art\u00edsticos m\u00e1s grandes y radicales de los estados del oeste y del mundo, Burning Man, la semana del 26 de agosto. NASAA Leadership Conference. Coming up in from September 18-20 is the NASAA Leadership Institute<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personal: Bhutan<\/span><\/a> Expedition. From November 1-11, I will be part of a small group of adventurers traveling to <\/span>Bhutan <\/span>in South Asia where we will be trekking, rafting and visiting the legendary Tiger\u2019s Nest<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>monastery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
