Presupuesto de WESTAF<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

El Equipo de Recursos de Liderazgo (LRT) ha estado trabajando intensamente en la elaboraci\u00f3n de presupuestos durante las \u00faltimas semanas. Debido a que hemos realizado algunas modificaciones en la estructura del equipo y las \u00e1reas de responsabilidad han ido cambiando para reflejar esta nueva estructura, tambi\u00e9n ha habido algunos cambios en el proceso de elaboraci\u00f3n de presupuestos, en los que estamos trabajando. Si bien a veces resulta dif\u00edcil implementarlos, creemos que estos cambios mejorar\u00e1n la propiedad, la transparencia y la rendici\u00f3n de cuentas.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Directores de Artes Esc\u00e9nicas de la Agencia Estatal de Artes (SAAPAD) Pro Dev \u2013 3 y 4 de junio<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

La reuni\u00f3n de SAAPAD incluy\u00f3 una visita y una conversaci\u00f3n con los l\u00edderes y el personal de Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, una organizaci\u00f3n de prestigio internacional que opera m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del modelo tradicional de las artes esc\u00e9nicas y que alberga los programas CRPD Ensemble, Academy, Theatre y Education. El grupo aprendi\u00f3 c\u00f3mo la National Performance Network (NPN) est\u00e1 haciendo efectiva la equidad a trav\u00e9s de sus redes de artistas y pares, reuniones y conferencias. Este programa de desarrollo profesional contin\u00faa fortaleciendo las conexiones entre los directores de artes esc\u00e9nicas y los consorcios de presentadores en todo el oeste. A partir de hoy, hay 24 asistentes confirmados a la sesi\u00f3n de Desarrollo Profesional de SAA que profundizar\u00e1n en: las implicaciones legales para las organizaciones sin fines de lucro que reciben apoyo de la industria del cannabis; las artes en las comunidades rurales; la intersecci\u00f3n de las artes, la pol\u00edtica y la organizaci\u00f3n comunitaria y un programa colaborativo de concesi\u00f3n de subvenciones que fomenta el trabajo intersectorial a trav\u00e9s de las artes; mesas redondas dirigidas por pares sobre temas relevantes identificados por el grupo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Llamada informativa del Director Ejecutivo de la Agencia Estatal de Artes<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

El 6\/10, Erin y Christian organizaron una llamada informativa con los directores ejecutivos de la SAA para brindarles un breve informe sobre la \u00faltima reuni\u00f3n de la Junta de Directores Ejecutivos. Agradezco a Karen (quien presidi\u00f3 la \u00faltima reuni\u00f3n) por brindar este informe. Tambi\u00e9n inform\u00e9 sobre el estado de la b\u00fasqueda de un nuevo director de pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas (a continuaci\u00f3n) y analizamos el calendario del pr\u00f3ximo foro de directores ejecutivos propuesto.<\/span><\/p>\n

Actualizaci\u00f3n de entrevistas del Director de Pol\u00edticas P\u00fablicas<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

El 10 y 11 de junio, realizamos una evaluaci\u00f3n preliminar de un grupo de nueve candidatos para este puesto. Me complace decir que hay algunos candidatos s\u00f3lidos y calificados para el puesto. De este grupo inicial, hemos seleccionado cuatro candidatos y un suplente. Dos son de fuera del estado y tres son personas de color. La pr\u00f3xima ronda de entrevistas en persona se llevar\u00e1 a cabo a fines de junio.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reuniones destacadas\/puntos de contacto<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I had a lovely lunch meeting with Deborah Jordy<\/a><\/span>, Executive Director of the SCFD (Colorado\u2019s Scientific and Cultural Facilities District). Later in the week, we attended the opening of Colorado artist Clark Richert at MCA Denver. We\u2019ve resolved to figure out a way we can work more closely together. Deborah is also an AFTA board member. Had coffee with Lisa Gedgaudas and Matt Kowal of Create Denver\/Denver Arts and Venues<\/a><\/span>. They are doing some interesting work in performing arts emergency preparedness<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and music industry vitality in the city of Denver. I had a good meet \u2018n\u2019 greet telephone call with Leonardo Vasquez<\/span><\/a><\/span>, Executive Director of the National Consortium for Creative Placemaking (NCCP). In addition to their growing network of national convenings (including the upcoming CPL Summit\/Pacific taking place in Los Angeles this week, which I will be attending), they also have been busy building a curriculum and certification around creative placemaking. Given WESTAF\u2019s leadership around creative economy, there is potentially a partnership\/tie-in here. Last but not least, I finally met Tim Wilson, Executive Director of our \u201csister organization,\u201d the Western Arts Alliance <\/a><\/span>(WAA). We also had an informal meet \u2018n\u2019 greet call to get better acquainted. Tim also attended and reported out on their numerous touring and presenting activities at the SAAPAD meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fiesta de Anthony Radich<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

El 6 de junio, Anthony y Sonja organizaron una hermosa fiesta para el personal actual y anterior de WESTAF y sus amigos en el jard\u00edn de su hermosa casa en Denver, una hermosa tarde de jueves. Fue divertido y relajado, y para m\u00ed fue genial conocer a algunos ex miembros del personal de WESTAF. \u00a1Todos parecieron pasarla muy bien!<\/span><\/p>\n

Pr\u00f3xima programaci\u00f3n<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

As previously mentioned, I celebrated my dad\u2019s 90th this weekend in the Anderson Valley of Mendocino County, CA. Later this week, I head to Los Angeles for the CPL Summit\/Pacific<\/a>. <\/span>After that, I will be heading north, but first dropping in on trustee Nikiko Masumoto in Del Rey, CA (thanks, Nikiko), then on to San Andreas for a CAC meeting with Vice Chair Tamara Alvarado, then Sacramento for a day of meetings.<\/span><\/p>\n
