While our meeting will be busy as usual with reports from committees, finance and general updates, we\u2019re making a special effort to make space for discussion and reflection, especially in the later part of the meeting. At a later date, we will be sending trustees a brief questionnaire designed to gauge your appetite for an in-person convening in Denver scheduled for October 27-28. In anticipation of this very real possibility, we have made tentative bookings at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brownpalace.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brown Palace Hotel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where we last convened together in October of 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>KOMMENDE ARTX-PR\u00c4SENTATION (CG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Invitations went out last week for our third ArtX presentation scheduled for April 28 from 4-5pm MT. For this ArtX Edition we\u2019ll be joined by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jhsph.edu\/research\/centers-and-institutes\/johns-hopkins-center-for-health-equity\/about-us\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Lisa Cooper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 the James F. Fries Professor of Medicine and Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Equity in Health and Health at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Cooper will engage in a conversation with trustee Dr. Bassem Bejjani about whether insights from Dr. Cooper&#8217;s research and her efforts at eliminating health disparities be a model for arts and cultural organizations as we address issues of access and inequality in our field. It should be a fascinating presentation and discussion, so if you haven\u2019t yet RSVP to the calendar invitation, please be sure to do so!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>ONBOARDING DER NEUEN SRI-DIREKTORIN ANIKA KWINANA (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westaf.org\/westaf-welcomes-new-director-of-social-responsibility-and-inclusion-anika-kwinana\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anika<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has, in true WESTAF fashion, had a whirlwind of an onboarding experience over the last two weeks that has included a week-long series of briefings on the SRI department and its programs with Lani, Madalena, and David and meetings with WESTAF\u2019s Technology, Finance and Administration, Marketing and Communications, and many of our Business teams. In this session, we <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1pNt1bhUaHWapCvqaPnZ3xxmsv4JHz3PY\/view?pli=1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">learned more abou<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t the fast-emerging ways that states and localities are beginning to think about accessing ARP funds; heard more about the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1pNt1bhUaHWapCvqaPnZ3xxmsv4JHz3PY\/view?pli=1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">various kinds of creative workforce initiatives<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the country that are impacting health, equity and work and economic development. Die neu ausgerichtete Initiative wird sich in erster Linie auf farbige K\u00fcnstler konzentrieren und die sechs regionalen Kunstorganisationen der USA einbeziehen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>TAGUNG DER BUNDESPR\u00dcFUNG DES ARTS ENDOWMENT (CG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several members of the WESTAF team attended a very useful virtual convening for SAAs and RAOs hosted by several team members from the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.gov\/about\/inspector-general\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Office of the Inspector General (OIG)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the National Endowment for the Arts. Most of our sister RAOs have been subject to OIG audits in the past 3-5 years. It has been at least ten years since WESTAF has been subject to an audit from the NEA OIG, which feels a little like waiting for &#8220;The Big One\u201d on the west coast! The OIG team <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1u5rmJubThZuH-PDOPtvy_viBJ9UHt0aCO6RKNTeAL2o\/edit?usp=sharing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">walked us through the auditing process<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and answered lots of questions. An OIG audit will certainly happen at some point in the future, and will require significant bandwidth from our grants and finance teams, but as we reviewed the audit process as a team, our sense was that we are sufficiently prepared for the inevitable.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>LEADERS OF COLOR NETWORK SKILLSHARE F\u00dcR DEN 29. APRIL GEPLANT (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Am 29. April 2021 um 14:00 Uhr Mountain Time veranstaltet WESTAF die dritte Folge unseres Leaders of Color Skillshare. Unsere viertelj\u00e4hrlichen Skillshares bieten den Mitgliedern des Leaders of Color Network die M\u00f6glichkeit, sich durch gemeinsames Wissen als Lerngemeinschaft zu vernetzen. In diesem Monat bringen wir die K\u00fcnstler-Ausbilder Nathalie Sanchez (LC18\/CA), Tara Gumapac (LC18\/HI) und Alex Jimenez (LC15\/CO) zusammen, um ein Gespr\u00e4ch \u00fcber Online-Engagement zu f\u00fchren. Lani leitet derzeit den Eignungspr\u00fcfungsprozess und arbeitet mit Jessica Gronich, Natalie Scherlong, Anika und David zusammen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>UPDATE ZUR SPENDENAKTION (CG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A more thorough update will come at the May board of trustees meeting, but we recently submitted an LOI to the Sloan Foundation\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sloan.org\/programs\/digital-technology\/universal-access-to-knowledge%5D\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Universal Access to Knowledge<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> funding program. We\u2019re also following up with great interest on the merger between the Patrick McGovern Foundation and the Cloudera Foundation, and their new <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/patrick-j-mcgovern-foundation-and-cloudera-foundation-announce-historic-merger-301258001.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data and Society<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> brief has particularly resonated with us. Both of these approaches could potentially accelerate WESTAF\u2019s work at the intersection of art and technology. Additionally, we\u2019re positioning ourselves for an introduction to the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/satterberg.org\/our-grants\/core-support-grants\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Satterberg Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We\u2019re also getting ready to submit an LOI to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usbank.com\/about-us-bank\/community\/community-possible-grant-program\/play-grants.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">US Bank Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. As you know, we have submitted a completed proposal and all requested backup material to the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust and expect a final decision on May 27. We are also expecting feedback, follow up on LOIs submitted to the Mellon Foundation and to the American Express Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>GANZT\u00c4GIGE KONFLIKTS-SELBSTMANAGEMENT-SITZUNG (CG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Das WESTAF-Team nahm am 13. April an einer ganzt\u00e4gigen Sitzung zum Thema Konfliktselbstmanagement teil, die von Debbie Stone mit dem Employers Council geleitet wurde. Obwohl die Sitzung lang war (insbesondere \u00fcber Zoom), war der Moderator engagiert und die WESTAF-Community war engagiert und steuerte viele aufschlussreiche Kommentare bei und beteiligte sich aktiv w\u00e4hrend der gesamten Pr\u00e4sentation. We received a presentation and information on the Air Institute\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.airinstitute.org\/crisis-analysis-mitigation-coach-training\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NCAPER Crisis Analysis and Mitigation program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for arts responders, with RAOs agreeing to put the word out to our regions to try and field a few candidates for this program. We also discussed our intentions to furnish the Mellon Foundation with a brief proposal for a follow-up funding program for the Regional Arts Resilience Fund. Lastly, we\u2019re also considering a \u201cdo-over\u201d Chairs and EDs in-person retreat (which never happened because of the pandemic) \u2014 possibly towards the end of September \u2014 in Fort Collins, CO.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>FINANZEN &amp; VERWALTUNG (AH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The HR team is working to prepare the staff and the office on Sherman street to welcome staff back for meetings or co-working needs once the pandemic has passed. WESTAF will make the office available to staff once the city of Denver moves to the \u201cgreen\u201d phase of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/denvergov.org\/Government\/COVID-19-Information\/Public-Orders-Response\/Public-Orders\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COVID-19 Dial<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 The staff have been surveyed regarding their interest in using the office space as well. Amy attended a corporate responsibility presentation by our USBank representative who was integral in securing WESTAF both Paycheck Protection Program loans. Becky and Amy attended a nonprofit conference presented by our auditing firm, Plante Moran. Content included changes in tax law, accounting updates, the employee retention tax credit and managing risk. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plantemoran.com\/explore-our-thinking\/insight\/2020\/02\/not-for-profit-outlook-survey-2020-report\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The nationwide nonprofit survey results for 2020<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which was presented at the conference can be found here for your information. With the staff getting vaccinated, the F&amp;A team is working together to plan vacations and cover each other\u2019s work to ensure the pent up need to take vacation and travel can happen with minimal interruption in work this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>STRATEGISCHE PLANUNG (NS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Die Kommunikationsgruppe verfeinert ihre Stakeholder-Umfrage weiter und m\u00f6chte ihre n\u00e4chste Initiative rund um die Erforschung von WESTAF-Produkten vorantreiben, einschlie\u00dflich der Erfassung von Informationen zu verschiedenen Elementen der WESTAF-Marke. April, offiziell als neue Sponsorin begr\u00fc\u00dfen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>ALLGEMEINE GESCH\u00c4FTE (CV)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wir freuen uns, unsere neue Business-Projektkoordinatorin Blair Carpenter im WESTAF-Team begr\u00fc\u00dfen zu d\u00fcrfen! Blair ist ausgebildete Operns\u00e4ngerin\/Theaterschauspielerin mit Erfahrung in CRM und Kundendatenmanagement, Webentwicklung und -design sowie Projektmanagement. Ihr erster Arbeitstag ist der 19. April und sie wird eng mit Natalie V. zusammenarbeiten, um alles \u00fcber WESTAF und die f\u00fcnf Business-Plattformen zu erfahren, die sie unterst\u00fctzen wird. Au\u00dferdem haben wir gerade die viertelj\u00e4hrlichen OKR-\u00dcberpr\u00fcfungsmeetings f\u00fcr alle f\u00fcnf SaaS-Produkte abgeschlossen und werden im kommenden Quartalsbericht eine Zusammenfassung unserer Fortschritte im zweiten Quartal geben.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>CAF\u00c9 (Wohnmobil)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Das CaFE-Team muss eine voraussichtliche Vakanz besetzen, da Eliza Wetherill am 28.04.21 ausscheidet. Eliza wird diesen Sommer an die Graduiertenschule zur\u00fcckkehren. Die Mitarbeiter werden sie sehr vermissen, aber wir w\u00fcnschen ihr alles Gute und viel Erfolg bei ihrem neuen Unterfangen. Die Stelle als Operations Coordinator bei CaFE wird ab sofort frei. Die Kunden kehren nach einem Jahr wieder zur\u00fcck und wir sehen gro\u00dfe Bewegung in Bezug auf Verl\u00e4ngerungen und Neukundenanmeldungen. Die neue CaFE-Administrator-Benutzeroberfl\u00e4che wird nun f\u00fcr Ende Mai erwartet und die Kunden werden \u00fcber die bevorstehenden \u00c4nderungen informiert.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>CVSUITE (KE)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Das CVSuite-Team arbeitet weiterhin am CVList-Projekt, dessen Starttermin voraussichtlich der 30. Das zweite Ticket verbessert die Benutzerfreundlichkeit bei der Auswahl von Datum und Jahr f\u00fcr die Dateien in der Medienbibliothek, indem Dropdown-Men\u00fcs durch Textfelder und Datumsauswahl ersetzt werden. Art of Recovery focuses on three main priorities: economic recovery, community connectedness &amp; restorative justice, and public health &amp; safety through grants for temporary artist projects and installations located throughout the City. The exhibition will continue to be updated as new installations take place. We quickly focused our efforts on aggregating a list of their customers and reaching out with a promotional offer to take 50% off the setup fee.
