The statement also includes some resources to help educate ourselves about these issues and advance advocacy on behalf of AAPI communities everywhere. As the statement says: &#8220;we rededicate ourselves to supporting leaders of color, particularly AAPI leaders; investing in organizations led by and primarily serving communities of color, particularly AAPI organizations; and to the crucial work of advancing equity and continuing our journey toward being an antiracist organization.\u201d To the AAPI identifying members of our WESTAF community, I want you to know that we all stand with you in solidarity and mourn along with you as we try to process these tragic hate crimes. The first two days also included discussions with artist <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/signsjournal.org\/ana-teresa-fernandez-borrando-la-frontera-erasing-the-border-2011\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ana Teresa Fernandez<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, known for her socially conscious conceptual work, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.journeyoftheuniverse.org\/bios\/nancy-c-maryboy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Nancy Maryboy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a pioneer in indigenous education and science who has partnered with the National Science Foundation and NASA over decades, on their artistic, cultural, and leadership paths. This year\u2019s program has already been an exceptionally moving and impactful intergenerational exchange for all of us, as participants, guests, and faculty have shared deeply about their journeys.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Treffen und Begr\u00fc\u00dfungen des Arts Endowment und ARP-Auftakt (CG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In den letzten Wochen hatten Christian und David Gelegenheit, die neuen Mitglieder der Biden-Regierung beim National Endowment for the Arts im Rahmen einer Reihe von Meet-and-Greet- und Listening-Touren n\u00e4her kennenzulernen. Nach dem derzeitigen Stand der Dinge (und das k\u00f6nnte sich noch \u00e4ndern) geht die Stiftung davon aus, dass der Prozess bis Ende April festgelegt und die Neuzuweisungen vorgenommen sein werden. Im Allgemeinen waren wir von der zielgerichteten und durchdachten Herangehensweise der neuen Mitarbeiter beeindruckt. Als sie diese Gelder f\u00fcr die Wiederbelebung der Kunst bereitstellten, dachten sie nicht unbedingt an Ihre Work-Life-Balance \u2026\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Stiftungs-Fundraising (CG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wie vor einigen zweiw\u00f6chigen Ausgaben berichtet, warten wir auf eine endg\u00fcltige Entscheidung des MJ Murdock Charitable Trust zu einem $174K-Antrag auf Unterst\u00fctzung unserer AAP-Arbeit. Eine endg\u00fcltige Entscheidung wird am 27. Mai erwartet, wenn sich die Treuh\u00e4nder treffen. In der Zwischenzeit hatte Christian ein herzliches Folgegespr\u00e4ch mit der Mellon Foundation, um zwei ausstehende Finanzierungsm\u00f6glichkeiten zu besprechen: \u00dcber den Monuments Project Fund sowie \u00fcber ihr Standardprogramm f\u00fcr Kunst und Kultur pr\u00fcfen wir die M\u00f6glichkeit einer beschleunigten Finanzierung des Public Art Archive. Dar\u00fcber hinaus besteht ein erkl\u00e4rtes Interesse an einer Version 2.0 des Regional Arts Resilience Fund der RAO, der in diesem Stadium lose als Wiederaufbauprogramm konzipiert ist, das Kapazit\u00e4tsaufbau und Beratung f\u00fcr jeden der in der ersten Runde finanzierten Stipendiaten umfasst. The PDF can be downloaded here: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sfca.hawaii.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/SFCA_FY2020-Annual-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FY2020 SFCA Annual Report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 This Annual Report of 2019 \u2013 2020 offers an overview of the past year\u2019s efforts by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) to focus on the implementation of the goals of its 2019-2023 Strategic Plan priorities of <\/span><b><i>Culture<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Education<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><\/i><b><i>Engagement <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b><i>the Arts<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF IM NASAA-WEBINAR ZUM THEMA KUNST UND WIRTSCHAFTLICHE ERHOLUNG (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 11, David, Professor Doug Noonan of Indiana University, George Tzougros, executive director of Wisconsin Arts Board, and Karen Mittleman, executive director of the Vermont Arts Council, joined NASAA staff for a discussion of the findings of the Arts and Economic Recovery research project and strategies for state arts agencies to pursue to connect the creative sector to state economic recovery efforts. This was the first of NASAA\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nasaa-arts.org\/nasaa-2021-learning-series\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2021 Learning Series<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for their state arts agency members, which replaces their in person NASAA Assembly. The recording of the session has now been released and is available on the NASAA website and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LT9Dio6rb90\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YouTube<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF ENGAGIERT NETZWERK F\u00dcR DIE BESCHAFFUNG VON KREATIVEN ARBEITNEHMERN \u2013 DATENERFASSUNG UND UNTERST\u00dcTZUNG VON POLITIKVORSCHL\u00c4GEN (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WESTAF has invited over 200 organizations across the region to submit information about creative workforce projects happening across the country as part of a national data collection effort being mounted by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.creativeworkers.net\/the-coalition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Getting Creative Workers Working Coalition<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (of which we are a part) and to endorse the policy proposal <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.creativeworkers.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Put Creative Workers to Work<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This includes 170 local arts agencies identified using the Americans for the Arts Field Directory. We will be developing and refining our local arts agency contact list over the coming months to more effectively engage with this vital constituency.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF UND BBMK PR\u00c4SENTIEREN ZUM THEMA KUNSTVERTRETUNG BEI DER CREATIVE DISTRICTS CONVENIENCE 2021 DER COLORADO CREATIVE INDUSTRIES (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">David and Megan Wagner of Brandeberry McKenna Public Affairs (the WESTAF contracted lobbyist in Colorado) presented on state and federal arts advocacy at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.creativitylabcolorado.org\/cci2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Colorado Creative Industries\u2019 2021 Creative Districts Convening<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, discussing developments in the past and current Colorado General Assembly sessions, creative districts policymaking nationally even during the pandemic, and national arts advocacy and arts policy developments like Save Our Stages, Put Creative Workers to Work, and Arts Workers Unite.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>GEMEINSAMER HAUSHALTSAUSSCHUSS VON COLORADO STIMMT F\u00dcR WIEDERHERSTELLUNG DER CCI-FINANZIERUNG (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Am 18.3. stimmte der Colorado Joint Budget Committee daf\u00fcr, die Mittel f\u00fcr Colorado Creative Industries und Office of Film, Television, and Media auf das Niveau von 2019-20 zur\u00fcckzusetzen. Round 4 of the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program, The Arts &amp; Cultural Program, supports California eligible cultural institutions defined as registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities. Unlike previous rounds, there is no limitation to apply based on annual gross revenue. Applications are being accepted until March 23, 2021. WAAN member Californians for the Arts has been awarded a contract to provide technical assistance in support of this vital program. WESTAF led discussions between Californians for the Arts\/California Arts Advocates and the WESTAF supported lobbyist Shaw Yoder Antwih Schmelzer &amp; Lange to prioritize state relief funding for the arts as one of the priorities for the legislative session. Also of note is Californians for the Arts\/California Arts Advocates coverage in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/02\/25\/arts\/california-arts-funding.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New York Times<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, highlighting their collaboration with Otis College of Design on creative economy advocacy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>CREATIVE NEW MEXICO ENTWICKELT IN DIESER GESETZGEBUNGSSITZUNG EINE NEUE KUNSTVERTRETUNGSKAMPAGNE (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creative New Mexico, the volunteer-led state creative economy advocacy organization in New Mexico, has developed a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/02\/25\/arts\/california-arts-funding.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">campaign highlighting the contributions of arts &amp; culture to New Mexico\u2019s larger economy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that they\u2019ve directed at New Mexico legislators. Having engaged New Mexico First to facilitate advocacy capacity building efforts in FY20 supported by WESTAF, Creative New Mexico is beginning to take on a more organized and strategic advocacy role in the state.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>NEA 2018 ABSCHLUSSBERICHTERSTATTUNG (LM)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Das SRI-Team hat die Abschlussberichte f\u00fcr alle NEA-Fonds f\u00fcr 2018 fertiggestellt. M\u00e4rz statt.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>LANI MORRIS WIRD ZUR GRANTS MANAGERIN UND ACCESSIBILITY COORDINATORIN (DH) BEF\u00d6RDERT<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lani Morris wurde mit Wirkung zum 15. M\u00e4rz 2021 zum Grants Manager und Accessibility Coordinator bef\u00f6rdert. In den kommenden Monaten wird Lani mit unserer neuen Direktorin f\u00fcr soziale Verantwortung und Inklusion, Anika Kwinana, und mir zusammenarbeiten, um die letzten Phasen der Abschlussberichterstattung f\u00fcr WESTAF CARES, CNMI CARES und den Regional Arts Resilience Fund zu verwalten und neue Programme mit Schwerpunkt auf gerechter Zuschussvergabe aufzubauen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>UPDATE ZUR SOUTH ARTS ELC PARTNERSCHAFT (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South Arts are in conversations with WESTAF about delivering a second Emerging Leaders of Color program as early as later in 2021. As we look to refine the program for a new cohort, we are reflecting on the results of our evaluation survey. 71% of participants were extremely satisfied by the program and the remainder were somewhat satisfied. 86% agreed that workshops helped to strengthen their competencies in order to more confidently step into leadership positions. 100% of participants agreed that they will be able to reach out to the network to better support the communities they represent and serve. 100% of participants also agreed that they have gained a network of like-minded peers and colleagues in their region. In her words, \u201cI cannot say enough about this program. It has made such an impact on me. To be able to meet other arts administrators and arts leaders of color from throughout the South was just so fulfilling. To be able to network with them, talk about equity issues in the arts, and how to navigate these spaces together. We problem solved together. We got to know each other. Also coming up in this month&#8217;s CaFE webinar, Justine discusses tools and tips for public art calls. And the month is not even over yet!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>CVSUITE (KE)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CVSuite is in full production mode for two important projects. The first, the CVList, is in the draft copy stage. Lori is working on the public art narratives and Kelly is working on the creative economy narrative. The drafts will be handed over to the team for the first round of edits next week. Meanwhile, the CVList photographer is completing the road trip and will have some sample photos for us to look at early next week. The second project is the work we are doing on our sales site. The team has given feedback on all pages. Once the changes are made they will be sent to Christina and Leah for final review. Trevor, Kelly and David partnered with one of our clients, Cultural Planning Group (CPG) to submit a proposal to conduct an economic survey of creative activity centers of Midvale, Utah. We should hear back from the city in a few weeks. Trevor and Natalie have been working on the specification for our latest enhancement, a password reset option, and this past week, Kelly has been tuning into sessions and events at the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> online SXSW conference<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>GO SMART (JG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GO Smart hat drei mittlere Verbesserungen und eine Fehlerbehebung ver\u00f6ffentlicht.
