Mostly though, I wanted to hold the space this week to send positive signals for the most important election of our lifetime. It was really wonderful to be with you as a community for the lead up to this week. Oktober, nahm David als Vertreter von WESTAF zum ersten Mal an den Sitzungen der Cultural Advocacy Group teil, nachdem er von der Leiterin Heather Noonan, Vizepr\u00e4sidentin f\u00fcr Interessenvertretung bei der League of American Orchestras, dazu eingeladen worden war. Even with budget pressures and reduced staffing, these agencies continue to serve their constituents and reshape their roles to be impactful. We hope to continue conversations with our colleagues in American Samoa soon. Madalena and David have developed a draft MOU with CNMI Arts Council. The MOU more clearly defines roles and responsibilities for the administration of CARES Act funding while presenting possible new directions in WESTAF\u2019s collaboration with CNMI, including their participation in regional programming. In the coming months, the team will develop a provisional structure in the form of MOUs or a charter membership in dialogue with the Pacitfic territorial arts agencies and submit these to the board for consideration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF SAA PERFORMING ARTS &amp; CONSORTIA PARTNERS TAGUNG 2020 (LM)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Am Donnerstag, den 29. Oktober und Freitag, den 30. Oktober leitete Kaisha Johnson, Gr\u00fcnderin und Gr\u00fcndungsdirektorin von Women of Color in the Arts (WOCA), ein zweit\u00e4giges Treffen zum Thema Gleichberechtigung mit dem SAA-Netzwerk f\u00fcr darstellende K\u00fcnste, Partnern der Konsortien f\u00fcr darstellende K\u00fcnste und TourWest-Diskussionsteilnehmern. Ziel der Sitzung war es, eine Gemeinschaft aufzubauen und aktives Zuh\u00f6ren und authentische Gespr\u00e4che zu erm\u00f6glichen, w\u00e4hrend gleichzeitig intensiv an impliziter Voreingenommenheit, institutionellem und strukturellem Rassismus, Privilegien, dem Unterschied zwischen Gleichheit und Gleichberechtigung und einer Reihe anderer Themen gearbeitet wurde. Nach einer Umfrage unter den 18 Teilnehmern werden sich Kaisha und das SRI-Team treffen, um die zuk\u00fcnftige Ausrichtung dieser Arbeit mit unserem regionalen Netzwerk f\u00fcr darstellende K\u00fcnste zu besprechen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>WESTAF REGIONAL ARTS RESILIENCE FUND (MS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Tuesday, October 27, with the approval of the Executive Committee on behalf of the board of trustees, WESTAF announced the 39 organizations across the region that were selected to receive Regional Arts Resilience Fund grants. Awards were made in amounts ranging from $30,000 to $74,000, totalling over $1.7 million. This award was made available by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Regional Arts Organizations, and was designed to mitigate the financial threat to the sector caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Twenty experts in the field of arts in culture met across two panels to help establish funding priorities. A full list of grantees and panelists <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westaf.org\/westaf-arts-resilience-fund\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can be found here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Disbursement of the funds begins November 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>DIREKTOR F\u00dcR SOZIALE VERANTWORTUNG UND INKLUSIONSSUCHE (DH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Wednesday, October 28, WESTAF <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westaf.org\/resources\/careers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">released the posting<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and position description for the Director of Social Responsibility and Inclusion to staff and the following day posted it on the WESTAF website and on the job listings of the Colorado Nonprofit Association, APAP, AFTA, Change Philanthropy, Philanthropy News Digest, and Idealist. Please share this opportunity with your networks. Applications are being accepted until November 30, 2020. With support from a review committee composed of staff, trustees, and representatives from key regional networks, we hope to identify an individual to fulfill this crucial role by the end of January 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>FINANZEN UND VERWALTUNG (AH)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nach der halbt\u00e4gigen Klausur letzte Woche haben Amy und Becca nun die kurzfristigen und langfristigen Priorit\u00e4ten f\u00fcr Betrieb und Personal f\u00fcr das neue Gesch\u00e4ftsjahr best\u00e4tigt. Throughout the summer, the projections estimated a $550,000 surplus but with the plans for the Mellon and CARES funding solidified as well as conservative spending and income projections, we have exceeded those expectations. The September <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1dKc3jY4sVjIG7m2HmbzW3cjd2rEobnsI\/view\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cash flow summary<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1P7_sOJSXCEE97ZrmHdHAO5Zs4mQpmvHyI94z9amNBZI\/edit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">memo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were shared with the full board in the October board meeting book and are linked here for your reference. Full projections for the new fiscal year begin in mid-November. Einer der Gr\u00fcnde f\u00fcr die Unterzeichnung bei CaFE ist unser Ruf, die gr\u00f6\u00dfte K\u00fcnstlerreichweite zu haben. Dies ist zwar keine Neuigkeit, aber ein Zeichen daf\u00fcr, dass die Kunstbranche mit niedrigen Bewerberzahlen zu k\u00e4mpfen hat. Ken Cho, unser Vertriebskoordinator, leistet hervorragende Arbeit bei der Bew\u00e4ltigung des Zustroms an Interessenten. Im Oktober hatten wir 43, von denen 7 in neue Kunden umgewandelt wurden. Dar\u00fcber hinaus hat Ken demn\u00e4chst Demos mit der Phillips Collection und LexArts. David und Trevor haben die vorl\u00e4ufige Fallstudienanalyse vorbereitet und begonnen, die Daten und ihre Ergebnisse zu verfolgen. Kelly und David haben mit der Befragung von Kandidaten begonnen. Natalie hat einen Projektplan f\u00fcr die \u00dcbertragung unseres Benutzerhandbuchs auf unsere Verkaufsseite entwickelt, was der erste Schritt zum Start des Projekts f\u00fcr den Verkaufsprozess sein wird.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>GO SMART (JG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GO Smart hat eine zweist\u00fcndige Schulung f\u00fcr 16 Administratoren des Kunst- und Kulturministeriums der Stadt San Antonio durchgef\u00fchrt. Obwohl die Agentur seit 2015 Kunde ist, gab es aufgrund von COVID viele Fluktuationen und Neuzuweisungen, und diese Schulung hat das gesamte Team auf den neuesten Stand gebracht. Die intensive Arbeit an der \u00dcberarbeitung der Medientools geht weiter, und Jessica Gronich und Jon Cantwell haben Stunden damit verbracht, den ersten Testentwurf durchzuarbeiten und die erste Runde der Testnotizen und n\u00e4chsten Schritte abgeschlossen. Die Zeit des GO Smart-Teams wurde auch gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils f\u00fcr interne Vorg\u00e4nge aufgewendet, beispielsweise f\u00fcr den Abschluss des Gesch\u00e4ftsjahres 2020 und die Einrichtung der neuen Insights-Software.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>\u00d6FFENTLICHES KUNSTARCHIV (LG)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PAA launched a virtual exhibition, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.publicartarchive\/org\/lives-that-bind\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lives That Bind: a restorative justice installation<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in partnership with Santa Monica Cultural Affairs. The exhibition, physically located in a wing of Santa Monica\u2019s City Hall, is not currently open to the public, and the virtual exhibition page on PAA will help bring additional attention to additional customized projects that PAA can continue to develop. In addition to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lives That Bind<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, PAA is finalizing content and layout on Mural Arts Philadelphia\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.publicartarchive.org\/power-map\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Power Map: Historical Mural Activations<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a digital experience built to deepen engagement with and archive a project organized by Mural Arts and curated by Daniel Tucker. PAA has been awarded the Los Alamos public art contract, but the contract is contingent on WESTAF receiving a certificate to conduct business in the State of New Mexico, which required a registered agent. If this paperwork is completed successfully, Los Alamos will be PAA\u2019s second sale of FY21.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>ZAPP (Lebenslauf)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FY21 budget was unanimously approved by the ZAPP Oversight Committee, the group made up of the managing partner (WESTAF, represented by Christian), a partner member, and an artist (member from the community). There will not be a partner payout in FY21, so the group did not have to approve that portion as they normally would. We sent our quarterly newsletter, which featured a report of findings from a survey about artist perspectives on virtual events that we conducted with The Art of Events. You can read some of the key findings by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zapplication.org\/resources\/videos\/Virtual_Events_from_the_Artists_Point_of_View.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clicking here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We\u2019re also slated to release on Tuesday an enhancement to ZAPP that allows events to have a virtual gallery of artists who applied to their event.
